Lamarck explained his theory by given the example of giraffe .
The ancestors of giraffe were bearing small a neck and fore-limbs and were like horse .
But as they were living in places with no surface vegetation, they had to stretch their neck and fore-limbs to take the leaves for food, which resulted in the slight elongation of these parts .
This slight increase was inherited to the progeny and the process was repeated for many generations.
This example shows the better use of organs
