In india the constitution does not follow any particular religion. Secularism is followed in india. Hindi is our national language while English and hindi both are official language. In sri lanka the sinhalese were majoriatarianism. The ethnic composition was very complex in sri lanka. The Sinhalese forced other tamilians to follow Buddhism. In sri lanka earlier only sinhalese was the only official language. Later tamil language also become the official language.

The true achievement of federalism in India can be associated with the character of communal statesmanship in our nation. This guaranteed that the essence of federalism, admiration for heterogeneity and passion for living collectively became a shared goal in our nation. The policies that have established federalism in India are :

(i) Several new states have been formulated on the grounds of either language, religion, ethnicity or topography. This has made management easier.

(ii) Even though Hindi was recognized as the authentic language by our Constitution, other literature has also been preserved. Apart from Hindi, there are 21 other languages identified as recorded languages by the Constitution. States to have their own authentic languages. Thus, not announcing Hindi a national language or commanding it on all the states have progressed federalism.

However, Language policy of Sri Lanka was structured in 1956, when an Act was established by the Sri Lankan administration to acknowledge Sinhala as the exclusive official language whereas in the situation of India the government allowed to recapitulate the practice of English along with Hindi for official determinations.
