In chemistry, the law of definite proportion, sometimes called Proust's law or the law of definite composition, or law of constant composition states that a given chemical compound always contains its component elements in fixed ratio (by mass) and does not depend on its source and method of preparation.

the law of definite proportion is alaw of science that says that a chemical compound is always made up of tha exact same proportion of elements by mass . so, if a compound is made by combining 1/4 from one chemical and the remaining 3/4 from another chemical, these proportions will always hold true , regardless of the amount of chemical added.
