Law of static friction:-

The law of static friction states that the force of friction, that resists the motion of the body as it starts to fall down the surface, is proportional to the normal (perpendicular) force that the body exerts on the surface.

Law of dynamic friction:-

The frictional force always acts in direction, opposite to that in which the body is moving. For moderate speeds, the force of friction remains fairly constant.

1. Angle of friction:- When the body placed on some surface is just on the point of sliding then in that condition the angle between applied force and normal force is called the angle of friction.

2. Angle of repose:- the steepest angle at which a sloping surface formed of loose material is stable.

3. coefficient of friction:- A coefficient of friction is a value that shows the relationship between the force of friction between two objects and the normal reaction between the objects that are involved.
