Lenz's law is a common way to understand how electromagnetic circuits obey Newton's third law and the conservation of energy. Lenz's law is named after Heinrich Lenz, and it says: An induced electromotive force (emf) always gives rise to a current whose magnetic field opposes the change in original magentic flux.

Lenz's law states that the direction of induced current in a circuit is such that which opposes the cause or the change that produces it.
The negative sign in the Faraday's law put forward by Lenz clearly shows the induced current always opposes the the cause that produces it.
Lenz's law follows from the principle of law of conservation of energy.
MOTION OF THE MAGNET INCREASES THE FLUX THROUGH A COIL. THE INDUCED CURRENT GENERATES THE FLUX IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND HENCE OPPOSES AND REDUCES THE FLUX.
