These lines are taken from the act II of play named as "Pygmalion" that is written by George Barnard. The lines Oh! that mere Alliteration Mrs Pearce natural to a poet" was said to Mrs Pearce by a character named as Higgins in the play. The basic idea behind it that when a young lady is made friends, they wind up noticeably envious, narrow minded ,suspicious and over bearing as well. She also implies that it is common that when a young lady enters in some one's life they are both taking the things in various ways because they thing differently with different thoughts.
