Explain  the  linear  model  of  writing  of  history.

The writing of Indian history was profoundly influenced by the Westerners of that time, which followed a linear model. The historians added philosophical touch to the description of events.  Historical events were recorded in the sequence of their occurrence and narrated in a way beneficial to writers or as viewed by them. As an example, British referred to the freedom struggle as mutiny or riots whereas Indians called the same as a struggle for freedom. Eventually oral descriptions were taken into account to record history. That model is called Oral History.
