Explanation:

Moreover, for the plantation workers, 'swaraj' meant the right to move freely in and out of the confined spaces and the freedom to visit their. native villages. The workers after the beginning of the Non-Cooperation Movement, disobeyed the authorities, left the plantation and headed to their villages.

When they heard of the Non-Cooperation Movement, thousands of workers defied the authorities, left the plantations and headed home. (iii) They believed that Gandhi Raj was coming and everyone would be given land in their own village. (iv) They, however, never reached their destination.

For the plantation workers, Swaraj meant to freely move out of the plantation fields ,

Under the Inland emigration act of 1859 , no plantation worker can move out of the plantation field without the permission of the british officials . And they were given permission only in rare situations .

So , after they knew about the Swaraj , they started to go to their home but they were caught by the Britishers and brutally beaten up. So the never reached their destination .
