• Limited resources refer to those resources that are exhaustible and so cannot be renewed. So these types of resources are also referred to as non-renewable resources. Examples of such types of resources are oil, coal, petrol, etc.
• Alternative resources refer to those resources which could be used as an alternative to these non-renewable resources. The alternate resources are usually of a kind that can be renewed easily. An example of an alternative resource is solar energy.
• Water that flows through a dam or via a turbine can be used to generate electricity, a process known as hydropower which is another example of an alternate resource as it can be used in alternative to fossil fuels as it does not emit harmful gases into the atmosphere.
