It further means that the state will respect and recognize all religions in the same way and respect pluralism in the society.

The two provisions that guarantee secularism in the Constitution of India are the enshrinement of the subject itself in the Preamble to the constitution and the 42nd Amendment of the Constitution of India that was carried out in 1976.
