Explain the meaning - Quantum theory- the new theory reconcile with the particle properties of light with the wave nature

Earlier there were two theories of light. The wave and the particle theory. Each of them were able to prove some phenomenons such as refraction. But no theory could prove all the phenomenons alone. So, both the theories were merged to form the quantum theory of light. This theory reconcilea that light is made up of waves as well as particles.
The new theory had no problem explaining all these phenomenons.
