Fishes need Oxygen to live. They acquire dissolved Oxygen underwater. In order to seperate oxygen from water, fishes have specialised organs called gills. Gills are feathery structures filled with blood vessels.

A fish breathes by taking in water through its mouth and forcing it out through its gills and the process continues.

In Aquatic animals such as fish respiration take place through respiratory organs called gills, however lung fish respiration take place through lungs.Gills are present in the both sides of the head of fish.... in the cells , oxygen is converted into corbon dioxide and returned back to gills through blood
