explain the mechanism of double fertilization

the phenomenon of double fertilization occurs in plants.when male gametes enters in carpel then one of the gamete reaches to the egg apparatus and fertilize the egg and the another gamete fuses with the double nuclie(2n) to for triple nuclie(3n) which is endosperm(food for young embryo)..in this case two phenomenons happened together that's why this process is called double fertilization.

When a pollen grain fuse with two polar nuclei. [Polar nuclei are present in the ovule of ovary.] Then triple fission takes place.

And when pollen grain fuse with an egg then formation of Zygote takes place.

Since the fertilization occurs two times, this is known as Double Fertilization in Plants.

Fertilization in Plants is known as the Syngamy.
