Plant transport. No heart, no blood and no circulation, but plants  do need a transport  system to move food, water and minerals  around. They use two different systems – xylem moves water  and solutes from the roots to the leaves – phloem moves food substances from leaves to the rest of the plant

mechanism of water and minerals in a plant:

1)the vessels and tracheids of roots ,stems and leaves in xylem tissue are interconnected to form a continuous system of water conducting channels reaching all parts ofther  plant.

2)the cells of roots in contact of the soil actively take up ions which creates a difference in the ion concentration between the root and soil.

3)thus there is steady movement of water into roots xylem from the soil creating a column of water that is pushed upwards.
