First, the receptor organ senses the stimulus. The impulse is then conveyed to the spinal cord through the Dorsal afferent nerve root. Then they are transmitted to the Ventral efferent nerve root by the Association neuron present in the gray matter at the centre of the spinal cord. These are then sent to effector muscle through the ventral efferent root.
