amending the constitution of india is the process of making changes to the nation's fundamental law or supreme law the producer of amendment in the constitution is laid down in part xx article three sixty eight of the constitution of india this producer ensures the sancity of the constitution of india and keeps a check or arbitrary power of the parliament of india .however there is another limitation imposed on the amending power of the constitution of india which developed during conflicts between the supreme court and parliament where parliament want to exercise discretionary use of power to amend the constitution while the supreme courts want to restrict the power this had led to the laying down of various doctrines or rules in regard to checking the validity or of an amendment the most famous among them is the basic structure doctrine as laid down by the supreme court in the case of keshav nanda bharathi v. state of kerala .

  • Amendment of the constitution is nothing but the process or making to change the law of supreme or law of fundamental. There are three types of amendment of the constitution, they are a simple majority, special majority and a special majority of the state legislature.
  • In simple majority of parliament to present or voting the members and before sending the president's assent. The special majority is two-third of the members are present and voting and not less than half of total members.
