** IN THE EARLY YEARS OF ITS DEVELOPMENT, THE INDIAN TEXTILE INDUSTRY HAD TO FACE THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS:-
* Indian textiles had to compete with the British textiles in Europe and American markets
* Exporting textiles to England became very difficult due to high duties imposed on Indian weavers.
* English and European companies stopped buying Indian goods and giving advances to the weavers.
* By the 1830s, as the British cotton cloth flooded the Indian markets, thousands of weavers becaame unemployed.
* They found it very difficult to feed themselves and their families.
* many died due to malnutrition.
* By the time of The First world war..The english government pressurised the poor weavers to make clothes for the soldiers.
Hope this helps a little....I am really sorry that I didn't get 13 points..... seriously sorry dear.....
