Parasitic plants are the plants which depend partially or completely on other plants for their food.

Most of the plants synthesize their food by photosynthesis. However, some plants steal food from other plants (host) and are called parasites

The parasite plants contain haustoria (modified roots) with the help of which they suck the food or water and minerals from the host plant.

Examples of plant parasites include; Nuytsia floribunda, Rafflesia, Mistletoe, Cuscuta etc.

Parasitic plant is one that derives some or all of its nutritional requirements from another living plant. For example, Cuscuta.
