EXPLANATION.

Quadratic equation.

⇒ 2x² - 3x + 5 = 0.

As we know that,

⇒ D = Discriminant Or b² - 4ac.

⇒ D = (-3)² - 4(2)(5).

⇒ D = 9 - 40.

⇒ D = -31.

⇒ D < 0 roots are imaginary.

MORE INFORMATION.

Nature of the factors of the quadratic expression.

(1) = Real and different, if b² - 4ac > 0.

(2) = Rational and different, if b² - 4ac is a perfect square.

(3) = Real and equal, if b² - 4ac = 0.

(4) = If D < 0 Roots are imaginary and unequal or complex conjugate.

Question -

2x² - 3 + 5 = 0

Answer -

Here ,

The Quadratic equation is

ax {}^{2} + bx + c = 0

By doing this we will get

a = 2 \\ b = - 3 \\ c = 5

Therefore ,

When we do discriminate each other such as

D = b {}^{2} - 4ac

Now , we need to know that

( - 3) {}^{2} - 4 \times 2 \times 5

= 9 - 40

= - 31

Here ,

D < 0
