• Riot is not a violation of any person's rights, but an offense against public peace and good order. It can come up from destructive and tumultuous activities of groups of individuals who create an outcry and exhibit weapons, march wildly in a public road, violently disrupt a public meeting, threaten to display violence to passersby or violently destroy property along the way.
• Lynching, a crime in which a crowd murders a convicted perpetrator, often by performing torture and mutilation, under the pretext of execution of justice without trial.
