Holding elections is one of the main critaria for calling a country democratic. It is necessary to consider the opininions of the citizens of a country before choosing a leader for the country. The only solution of this need is that of holding elections. Holding elections ensures that a decision is taken with respect to the opinions and choices of people, as the candidate getting majority votes becomes the leader. It balso ensures that the leader who has been chosen can be changed by yhte people if failed to operate the stae swiftly. This also gives a way to the people, who have chosen a candidate to lead the country and has failed, to correct heir own mistakes. Thus, for a demacracy, holding elections is of atmost importance.
