heya!!
here is your answer ⬇️
neurons are irritable i.e. respond to environmental stimuli by producing action potentials. neurons are ecrodermal.
==> components of nervous tissue: nerve tissue consists of two type of cells. nerve cells and supporting cells.
● NEURONS
neuron is the structural and functional unit of nervous tissue. it consists of a cell body and two types of cell process dentrites and axon.
● CELL BODY
the cell body is also known as perikaryon or soma or cyton. it consists the nucleus, with prominent nucleous. the cytoplasm contains nissil bodies.
● DENTRIES
these are usually short and they divide like the branch of a tree.
● AXON
the axon is a single long and cylindrical process that originates from short cone shaped region of perikaryon called the axon hillock. the palsma memebrane axon is axolemma, its cyroplasm is axoplasm.
●SYNAPSE
it is generally formed by an axon terminal.and thin intercellular space called the synaptic left. most synapses transmit information to next
neuron by releasing chemical neurotransmitters.
● GLIAL CELLS
nerve tissue has only a very small amount of extracellular matrix .
