Objectives of Minimum Wages Act- The logic behind Minimum Wages Act is to enable both the Central and State Governments to determine minimum wages in certain employments to prevent the exploitation of employees.

The scope of Minimum Wages act- In a country like India where unemployment is a pressing concern, workers can be made to work at starvation charges.

By fixing the minimum wage, without considering the capacity of the employer, there will be general welfare of the laborers.

Coverage- Wages should be able to cover all the basic necessities of the employee which include house accommodation, light, food, medical etc.
