The French society was divided into 3 estates:-
FIRST ESTATE- The first estate consisted of clergy.They enjoyed most of the privelages and did not have to pay taxes.
SECOND ESTATE- The second estate condsisted of the nobility .They also enjoyed most of the privileges.
THIRD ESTATE- The third estate consisted of the peasants,small shopkeepers, land lords court ,officials ,labourers,artisans,landless labourers, lawyers,servants,merchants etc.
