In India the supreme court has original, appellate and advisory jurisdiction.Its exclusive jurisdiction extends to all cases between the government of India and the states of India

Some cases can directly be brought to High Court. These cases are related to the fundamental rights, wills, divorce, marriages, contempt of courts, etc. Elections dispute can also be heared by the high court.
