Glucose breakdown takes place by two methods as aerobic and anaerobic as in aerobic the breakdown takes place with oxidation in this process a large amount of energy is released and it takes place inside the mitochondria as 8ATP and 30ATP are released in cytoplasm and mitochondria respectively.

In anaerobic respiration different types of product are formed in plant and animal as in animals the formation of lactic acid takes place and in plant alchohal is generated in this loss of energy takes place as 8ATP AND -6ATP are generated .
