Distinctive features of domestic architecture of Mohenjo-Daro are as follows:-

i) People lived in the houses made of bricks. The Houses had a provision of doors and windows.

ii) Each house had a courtyard, bathroom, kitchen and a staircase to take the residents on to roof. A few houses had two or three storey.

iii) There was a very good provision of drains for the outlet of waste water in the towns. All the drains were made of concrete that were covered with such bricks which could be easily removed for the cleaning.

iv) The water of the residential drains fell in the street drain. There was a big drain outside the city where the waste water of the whole town was accumulated.
