The answer to this question is explained in many parts without which there will be no clarity.

Light : Conventionally light was considered as a form of electromagnetic radiation. Albert Einstein and Max Planck came out with their theory that light consists of little particles, also called Photons leading to the wave particle duality theory.

Light as an electromagnetic radiation: Light has a constant velocity in a medium and travels at a speed of 3x10^10 cm per second in vacuum. It is propagated as a ‘Sine Wave’. Electromagnetic radiation is characterized by their wavelength or frequency (Number of waves per centimeter or the number of waves traveling in a second) of repeated hills and valleys as shown below. It is an electromagnetic radiation, consisting of Electrical and Magneticcomponents, each perpendicular to the other.

In the figure shown below, the red colored hills and valleys (on the plane) is the electrical component, while the blue one is the magnetic component (which is perpendicular to the plane) . Both the electrical and magnetic components travel in the same direction.

Photons and the electromagnetic spectrum. A beam of electromagnetic radiation delivers energy in 'packets' called photons. The energy delivered by each photon increases with the frequency of the electromagnetic waves. This means that gamma photons have the most energy, and radio photons the least.
