The physical features or the geographical characteristics of the India are very enriched.
The main features are;
1) Mountain ranges:
There are different mountain ranges in various portions of our country which are very important for the geography of our country.
(Eg. Himalayan mountain range;Vindhya mountain range.)
2) Plateau region:
The south portion and the middle portion of our country is covered with a disconnected plateau region which is known as the Decan Plateau.
3)Rivers and soil distribution:
Due to many active river flows in our country,the fertile soil distribution is also excellent in our country.
4) Peninsular island:
Due to the natural geographical location,our country is a peninsular island which is covered with ocean on it's three sides.

a) Mountains and Valleys – The mighty Himalayan Range of mountains, Aravalli range, Vindhyas, Satpuras, etc. and the valleys between them constitutes the mountainous highlands of the country.
b) Plains – Most of the land surface of our country is the plain land, like the Gangetic Plain.
c) Plateaus – Flat table land, i.e. lands at an elevation with a flat table like top, is also a physical feature of our country, for example – Deccan Plateau, Chhota Nagpur Plateau, Malwa Plateau, etc.
d) Deserts – Our country also has the Thar Desert, which is a vast stretch of land covered with sand.
