Water contains two moles of hydrogen atom and one mole of oxygen atom.As we know Oxygen is more electronegative than hydrogen,Oxygen tries to gain electrons and attain partially negative charge and hydrogen being electropositive tries to lose electrons and attain partially positive charge.Hence water is polar. It exhibits polarity.
