Answer:

The d-block elements are found in the middle of the period table. The d-block elements are called transition metals and have valence electrons in d orbital's. The f-block elements, found in the two rows at the bottom of the periodic table, are called inner transition metals and have valence electrons in the f-orbital's.

Answer:

the d-block elements are placed in the middle of the periodic table (between s&p-block elements) that is why they are also called transition elements.

the general configuration of d-block elements is: [ (n-1)d^1-10  ns^1-2 ]

they are hard, malleable and ductile metals with high melting & boiling points.

they are good conductors of heat and electricity.

the last electron enters any one of the 5d orbitals. since the d-subshell has 5 orbitals , in total they can accommodate 10 electrons,

hence there are 10 vertical columns of d-block elements from group no.3 to group no.12.

hope it helps you..
