The power of a lens is the reciprocal of its focal length, more technically, its second principal focal length. In S.I. So we can say that if focal length of a lens is 2 m, its power is 0.5 dioptre. 1 dioptre is equal to 1 per meter.

Answer:

The power of a lens is defined as the ability of the lens to converge or diverge a beam of light falling on it. A lens is said to be of greater power if it diverges or converges a beam of light more strongly by focusing them closer to the optical centre.
