Answer:

Working principle -

1. when a current carrying conductor is placed in uniform magnetic field, it experiences torque

2. it converts electric energy into mechanical energy.

Working principle-

1. when the current flows through the rectangular coil ABCD, side AB and side CD experience a force whose direction can be determined by fleming's left hand rule. side AB experiences a force in downward direction and side CD in upward direction, due to which the rectangular coil undergoes half a rotation.

2. after half a rotation, the current flows in the direction DCBA. now by fleming's left hand rule side AB experiences a force upwards and side CD downwards. hence, the coil again undergoes half a rotation.

3. thus when the current is passed through armature it undergoes continuous rotations in one direction and thus axle also rotates converting electric energy to mechanical energy.

Answer:

The principle of electric motor is when a current carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field it experiences a force. ... The field winding generates a constant dc flux. The armature conductor which carries current experiences force and the direction of this force is given by Fleming's left hand rule.
