Principle. Dialysis works on the principles of the diffusion of solutes and ultrafiltration of fluid across a semi-permeable membrane. Diffusion is a property of substances in water; substances in water tend to move from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration.

Of 532 patients starting dialysis, 222 died. ... Notably, cardiac deaths accounted for only 14.4% of all deaths and no patient died from a cardiac cause after surviving on dialysis more than 8.5 years. We conclude that infection is the leading cause of death in our dialysis patient population.

But this only is applicable to the person who has a kidney failure
