ELECTRIC MOTOR: converts electrical energy to mechanical energy. There are mainly three types of electric motor. All of these motors work in more or less same principle. Working of electric motor mainly depends upon the interaction of magnetic field with current.

ELECTRIC GENERATOR: The modern-day generator works on the principle of electromagnetic induction discovered by Michael Faraday in 1831-32. Faraday discovered that the above flow of electric charges could be induced by moving an electrical conductor, such as a wire that contains electric charges, in a magnetic field

Electric motor
# It works on a principle of force acting on a current carrying conductor in magnetic field

# here we need to use Flemings left hand rule which helps us to find the force which is acting

# here electrical energy is converted into mechanical energy

Electrical generator
# works on principle of electro magnetic induction
# it conversation mechanical energy into electrical energy

# here we will use Flemings right hand rule which help us to find the induced current

Thank you for asking such wonderful question
