Explain the principle of scalar chain and gangplank

Scalar chain. A principle of Fayol which states that there must be formal lines of communication between various level in an organization. For example: consider that there is an organization structure in which A is the head and has two formal lines of communication, i.e, B-C-D-E-F and L-M-N-O-P. If E wants to communicate with O then they would have to communicate through a chain of E-D-C-B-A-L-M-N-O.

Gang Plank. In case of emergencies, E can communicate directly to O through a method called Gang Plank.
