Answer:

Equity discussions need to focus not only on race, but also on factors such as socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation, family background, disability, and religious beliefs, because they all bring different experiences to the educational setting, Moody wrote.

Answer:

Equity is one of the wisest thing society needs. There are many groups which need equity badly. But ensuring equity is not an easy task. Because-

1. The people who are ahead in a race , as upper caste Hindus, donot accept these radical changes whole heartedly as they are naturally conservative .

2. There are some people in every group which donot need equity, but they get it. So it also seems to be unjust to people.

3. Other groups who may not need this too demand the equity.

Eg- Many groups are doing protests and rallies for ensuring reservation.

4. Equity is liberal idea, conservatives don't appreciate it.

5. Sometimes in name of bringing all on same starting line, many upper caste groups face highest competition possible.

Eg- In competitive exam like UPSC , entrance exams like NEET ,JEE , it becomes very difficult for students from General Category. As cutoff they get is too high.

6. Equity can be ensured in Economic way but sometimes it is difficult to be ensured in cultural way .

Eg- Untouchability is still done in some regions.
