The process involved in mushroom Cultivation -

It involved 6 steps

i) Composting - Manure and many other nutrients are added to the field.

ii) Spawning - it involves pasturasation of compost material in a tunnel to kill all the bacteria. it remains in tunnel for 6 days .

iii) Casing - The mature compost speards into mashroom beds it is in special dark room at a temp. below 23°c. casting material is added

over a period,water is sprikled on it.

iv) pinning- At this time a little white colour of buds are grown on mushroom which is called pins. growth of pine depend upon air and humidity.Low air temperature and low humidity produce more buds

v) Harvesting - After 3 weeks , in 18 ° C mushroom grows enough to harvest. First flush is harvested either by hand or by machines, after 9 days second flush is harvested.

vi)Cropping-

After 2nd harvest mushroom bed is pasturized and cleaned. compost is removed and it is ready to sown again
