In the presence of oxygen When breakdown of glucose is carried out in the presence of oxygen in a cell, it is called as aerobic respiration. Glucose is converted into a 3 carbon molecule called pyruvate which further breaks down in the presence of oxygen to form carbon dioxide and water.

The process is called as GLYCOLYSIS ....
Basiclly this occurs while the process of respiration to generate energy molecules in the body....
C6H12O6 + O2 =====> CO2 + H2O + HEAT AND ENERGY. .......
Basically this is involved in the aerobic respiration ...which is done in presence of the oxygen....
