Resin method;is a method used to remove permanent hardness of water.There is occurrence of ion exchange resins(RSO3H)is changed to RNa by treating it with NaCl.The,RNa exchanges Na^+ ions with Ca^2+ & Mg^2+ ions present in hard water & as a result,hard water is softened.
