Explanation:

Digestion involves the breakdown of food into smaller and smaller components, until they can be absorbed and assimilated into the body. The process of digestion has three stages.Saliva contains digestive enzymes called amylase, and lingual lipase, secreted by the salivary glands and serous glands on the tongue.

Answer:

Process of Digestion starts with our mouth. The digestion in our mouth is called Mechanical Digestion. From the mouth food goes to the food pipe. No digestion takes place in food pipe. Then the food is passed into our Stomach. By the action of Digestive Enzymes food gets converted into semi-solid food called Chyme. Chyme leaves the stomach and enters the Small Intestine. Digestion process completes in small intestine. Small finger like projections(Villi) absorbs the food and the food gets transported in various parts of body with the help of blood. The food that remains undigested moves to Large Intestine. Colon in Large Intestine absorbs water and some salts. Now semi-solid undigested food moves to the Rectum and is further removed from the body through anus.
