Explain the process of digestion in human answer
Answers
Answer:
Explanation:
when the food enters our mouth our salivary glands sectrete pytalin which is a type of amylase to break down food into simpler components. Then the saliva mixes with the food and forms a lump called bolus.
this bolus travels down the oesophagus through the process of peristalisis which is a rhytamic contraction of oesophagus to push down the food
then the food enters the stomach and the stomach secrets gastric juice which contains HCL, Pepsinogen and mucus. The mucus lines the stomach so that the HCL will not break down the stomach wall. The HCL and pepsinogen mix to form pepsin which digest the nutrients in the food. This chunk of food now is known as chyme because it is now acidic. When the food comes out of the stomach the liver secretes bile juice into the small intestine to neutralize the acidic chunk and also to break down remaining fat molecules into fatty acids. Then the pancreas secrete pancreatic juice which contains trypsin, lipase and amylase which digests the remaining nutrients. Then small structures in the small intestine called villi absorb the nutrients and blood capillaries in the villi send it to all parts of the body. The food now passes through the large intestine where water and roughage is absorbed. the food chunk now leaves the body through the anus in the form of faeces
We take food through the mouth , digest and utilise it.The undigested parts of the food are expelled from the body. The food passes through a long muscular canal called alimentary canal or digestive tract which begins at the buccal cavity and ends at the anus
The alimentary canal consists of:
a) buccal cavity or oral cavity
b) Oesophagus or food pipe
c) Stomach
d) small intestine
e) large intestine ending at the rectum
f) anus
The inner walls of the stomach, the small intestine and the various glands such as salivary glands, the liver and the pancreas , secret digestive juices. These digestive juices convert complex, insoluble food substances into simple, soluble food substances.
The digestive tract and the associated glands together constitute the digestive system.
Digestion
1. buccal cavity or oral cavity
from the mouth, the food goes into the buccal cavity or oral cavity. The buccal cavity contains teeth, tongue and salivary glands.
2.Phrynx and Oesophagus
The chewed food is pushed into a long and narrow muscular tube called the food pipe or Oesophagus
through another short muscular tube called the pharynx .
3. Stomach
From Oesophagus, the food goes to the stomach. the stomach is a j shaped, thick - walled organ present on the left side of the abdomen .
4. Small intestine
The small intestine is the longest part of the alimentary canal. it is about 7.5 metre long.
After this all process the waste food come to the anus and then it come out From the body of human being.
