The mouth is beginning of the digestive tract.in fact ,digestion starts as soon as you take the first bite of meal.chewing breaks the the food into pieces that are more easily digested,while saliva mix with food to begin the process of breaking it down into a form ur body can observe and use.

After eating
-Saliva breaks down the chemicals in the food a bit, making the food mushy and easy to chew, which helps to grind the teeth into bits, making it easier for the process.
-- The Esophagus shifts food from the back of your throat to your abdomen.
-The stomach, close to the end of the esophagus
-And the stomach breaks down a liquid mixture of the food
And eventually drain the liquid mixture into the small intestine.
-- The small intestine breaks down the food mixture even further so that the body can consume all the vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates and fats.
-Liver: The liver filters out toxic substances or waste and absorbs some of the food.
-The large intestine removes water and salts from the substance not digested as food and gets rid of any residual waste products. All food goes to the rectum where it is removed.
