the food first enters the mouth. there , is is treated by salivary glands present in mouth. then through oesophagus it enters stomach and there it is digested woth hydrochloric acid, pepsin and mucus. hcl makes the pepsin active which breaks protein into amino acid. mucus protects teh lining of thr stomach.
