Explain the process of electrolysis with the help of an example
AkashPrakash1:
In chemistry and manufacturing, electrolysis is a technique that uses a direct electric current (DC) to drive an otherwise non-spontaneous chemical reaction. Electrolysis is commercially important as a stage in the separation of elements from naturally occurring sources such as ores using an electrolytic cell.

electrolysis is the process of refining any metal with the help of electricity.
for eg-. electrolysis of copper
There is a large container in which contains electrolytic solution of CuSO4 with H2SO4.
The pure copper slab is used as the cathode whereas impure copper slab is used as anode. When electricity is passed through this, the impurities of the impure copper slab settle down in the solution as anode mud the pure copper slab increases in size as positively charged copper ions move towards cathode. The electrolytic solution helps in movement of ions of copper.
