Answer:

Fertilization in flowering plants happens through a process called pollination. Pollination occurs when pollen grains from the anther land on a stigma. ... Fertilization occurs when one of the sperm cells fuses with the egg inside of an ovule. After fertilization occurs, each ovule develops into a seed.

Explanation: the process of fertilisation in flowering plants is double fertilisation.  there are two male gametes, one fuses with the egg cell and other male gamete fuses with two polar nuclei.

male sex organ of plants(androecium),have microsporangium in which pollen grains are formed. Pollen grain consists of generative cell and vegetative cell , i.e., has vegetative nucleus and tube nucleus.

female sex organ (gynoecium) consists of stigma, style and ovary. Pollen grain germinate on stigma and form pollen tube through germ pore(region of exine where sporopollenin is absent) which goes through style and reach the ovary. Ovary has ovule , which further consist of embryo sac.  Embryo sac contain egg cell, 2 polar nuclei, 2 synergids and 3 antipodal cells. synergids have filliform apparatus that secretes some chemicals which guide the entry of pollen tube in the embryo sac. before fertilisation, the two synergids , 3 antipodal cells degenerates and fertilisation takes place .

one haploid male gamete fuses with haploid egg cell to form diploid zygote while other haploid male gamete fuses with two haploid polar nuclei to form a triploid endosperm that provides nutrition two the zygote.
