Layering:
- Layering is the reproductive system plants where an intact stem (part from where the root started to develop) is cut and sown to produce a new plant.
- Example: climbing roses, forsythia, rhododendron, honeysuckle, boxwood, azalea, and wax myrtle.
Grafting:
- Grafting is that reproductive process where the upper part of one plant is mingled with the lower part of another plant.
- Here, the upper part such as fruits, flowers, stems, etc. is called scion and the root part (lower part) is called the rootstock.
- Example: Rose, peaches, budwood, etc.
