This process may be explained in the following steps :  

Unsatisfied needs : Unsatisfied need refers to un fulfilled necessity which is yet to be met.

Tension : unsatisfied needs create tension in the mind of an individual to strive for the satisfaction of needs.

Drives : An unsatisfied need of an individual to look for the options available to satisfy the need.

Search behaviour : These drive generate a search behaviour i.e, search for alternatives to satisfy such need.

Satisfied need : After finding the solution, the need is fulfilled.

Reduction of Tension : As soon as one needs fulfilled, it reduces tension and creates a new need.
