Osmosis is the main process which makes a plant to get minerals from soil.

roots of plants are ionic and Minerals or not too ionic than roots.

as we know that, Osmosis is the process taken place when there is a imbalance in ionic nature.

minerals from soil get into root hairs of plants and gets into the xylem.

this xylem with the help of mesophyll cells transports water droplets with minerals to different parts of the plant.

this is the process of osmosis which is seen in plants.

osmosis is the diffusing of water from region of its higher concentration to its lower concentration through semi permeable membrane.

diffusion of water across a semi permeable menbrane.

direction and rate of osmosis depends upon oressure grafuent and concentration gradient.

osmotic pressure is the external pressure applied to prevent the diffusion of water. It depends upon solute concentration.

Numerically osmotic pressure is equal to osmotic potential.

osmotic pressure has positive sign.

osmotic potential has negative sign.
