Explanation:

Photosynthesis: is a chemical process through which plants, some bacteria and algae, produce glucose and oxygen from carbon dioxide and water, using only light as a source of energy.

Explanation:

Photosynthesis - The process in which green plants convert simple inorganic substances like CO2 and H2O into complex organic substance glucose in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll.

Mechanism of photosynthesis

Light phase - (i) Absorption of sunlight by

chlorophyll

(ii) Conversion of light energy into

chemical and splitting of water

molecules into H2 & O2

(iii) Reduction of NADP (NADP + H2)

Dark phase - (iv) Break down of NADP + H2 using ATP

(v) Reduction of CO2

Note - Light phase is called light phase as it occur in the presence of sunlight.

Dark phase is called dark phase as it do not require sunlight ( it can occur in day time also )
